Adult Programs
Kadima is a nonprofit mental health agency that provides comprehensive services to adults with psychiatric disabilities (schizophrenia, schizo-affective disorder, bipolar disorder and long-term chronic clinical depression). The following clinical and case management services are utilized to address the specific needs of persons served with individualized person-centered planning.
Residential Programs
- Group Homes – Staffed 24-hour homes, medication management, opportunities to work on daily living skills in a supervised environment.
- Family Homes – Options for a long-term living environment with support services in a family-type setting and medication management.
- Supported Independent Program Homes – Staffed daily (1 – 13 hours), support services, advocacy, medication management, preparation for independent living.
Support Services
- Counseling – Person-centered planning; individual, group and family therapy with licensed master’s level therapists.
- Case Coordination – In-home reinforcement of daily living and social skills, medication management, advocacy, entitlements, individualized medical needs.
- Support Groups – Meetings focused on psycho-education and peer interactions.
- Socialization Activities – Organized and supervised programming, community integration, secular and religious holiday celebrations.
- Transportation – Assistance with medical appointments, shopping, therapy and Kadima-sponsored programming.
- Lois and Milton Y. Zussman Activity Center – Five day/week programming, warm atmosphere that promotes socialization along with The Beverly Franzblau Baker Shabbat Celebration Program and the Mel Richman Jewish Enrichment Program that offers Jewish educational opportunities, lunch and Friday Shabbat observances.
Supported Employment
- Joint project with JVS and Michigan Rehabilitation Services.
- Job assessment for skills, readiness to work and interview techniques.
- Job coaching and long-term advocacy and intervention between employee and employer.
Kadima Plus
- Partnership between JFS, Jewish Senior Life and Kadima.
- In-home support services to seniors with mental illness to sustain aging in place.
- Medication monitoring and management.
- Advocacy, transportation, friendly visiting, counseling.
CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities)
Kadima was awarded a second three-year CARF accreditation through June 2012. Kadima completed a rigorous peer review process and demonstrated to CARF surveyors that its programs and services are accountable and of the highest quality. Kadima was recognized by CARF as having “an established pattern of practice excellence”.
